About Neil
Native of London, England, Neil began studying Ballroom and Latin dance at the age of five. From the age of six he competed successfully in International Ten Dance competitions throughout England and Europe. In 1989 he passed his International Teaching exam and became a full-time professional dance instructor. He relocated to the U.S. later that year to take an engagement training the staff of a large New York/ New Jersey franchised dance studio. His duties included educating the studios teachers in the "International Style" of ballroom dance. At this time he also received my certification in American Style Smooth and Rhythm.
In 1995 Neil moved to Las Vegas, NV, to choreograph and consult for several large hotel casino shows and touring groups. He also continued to provide private instruction to all levels of competitive and social dancers. In 1998, Neil moved to Milwaukee, WI, to open his own studio and continue to pursue his competitive career. He now coaches teachers training for their professional examinations, train and dance with Pro/Am competitive students in all styles, mentor Amateur, Junior couples as well as teaching complete beginners.
Neils firm belief in the positive benefits the experience of ballroom dance can offer led him to spearhead the Milwaukee area Mad Hot Ballroom Program. He remains active in this hugely successful initiative as lead dance instructor. The program,which teaches 5th and 6th grade inner city children ballroom dance, is now in over 40 Milwaukee elementary schools servicing over 2000 children annually.
